Building a Phone Assistant with Vapi

Overview

This guide will help you quickly create an intelligent phone assistant using Pathors and Vapi. By integrating Pathors’ state management capabilities with Vapi’s voice services, you can easily build a powerful phone assistant system.

Prerequisites

• Vapi account
• Pathors account

Detailed Steps

​

Step 1: Create Vapi Assistant

1. Log in to Vapi console
2. Click “Create Assistant” to create a new assistant

Step 2: Choose Template

1. Select “Blank Template” as your starting point
2. This allows you to fully customize your assistant’s behavior

​

Step 3: Configure LLM Provider

1. Select “Custom LLM” in the Provider settings
2. This allows you to use Pathors as your LLM provider

​

Step 4: Set Up Pathors Integration

1. Open Pathors console
2. Navigate to the integrations page
3. Select Vapi integration option

Step 5: Enable Integration

1. Enable Vapi integration in Pathors
2. Copy the generated integration endpoint URL

Step 6: Complete Vapi Configuration

1. Return to Vapi console
2. Paste the Pathors integration endpoint into the Custom LLM URL field
3. Set up the initial welcome message

Step 7: Publish and Test

1. Click the “Publish” button to make your assistant live
2. Test your assistant directly in the browser
3. Use Vapi API to create phone calls
